How to get saved according to the Bible
WHY DO YOU NEED TO BE SAVED?
Before getting saved, it's essential to understand why you need salvation in the first place. The Bible teaches that we are all born sinners who have sinned against God, and because of that sin, we deserve and are condemned to eternal separation from God (Romans 6:23). However, that is why Jesus died for us, so it's first understanding that Jesus died in your place for your sins (Romans 5:8). And that there is absolutely nothing you can do to save yourself; that is why you need the savior: Jesus.
HOW DO YOU receive salvation?
Once you simply realize that you’re a sinner who’s in the wrong and that you need a savior, it’s all about trusting in what the savior (Jesus) did to save you, which was dying on a cross shedding his blood, being buried, and rising again three days later. He did that to pay for your sins, and how do you receive that payment?
Through faith! It’s faith alone in the finished work of Christ (His death, burial, and resurrection), faith in the blood of Christ to pay for your sins. Salvation is a free gift to be received by faith alone, not by any works. This free gift of salvation can only be received by faith alone with no works involved, or you can't receive it at all.
Additionally, if you could work for it, it wouldn’t be a gift. There is absolutely nothing you can do to get rid of your sin; that’s why you must fully rely on the finished work of Christ as the payment for your sins.

A FEW THINGS TO BE MINDFUL OF
It’s no secret that, unfortunately, there is a lot of false preaching and confusion out there (Matthew 7:15). The Bible warns that there are many people who mislead others into believing false doctrine (2 Corinthians 11:3-4). Therefore, regarding salvation, please understand that if anyone adds to the gospel by preaching any form of a works-based gospel, they are wrong and are also rejecting Jesus’ sacrifice.
Side note: When looking up any of these verses, please make sure to use the KJV. God bless!
