What are you trusting in for salvation?
If you are reading this article, you may already believe that Jesus is God. However, this one simple topic is vital for you to understand. Many people believe that Jesus is God and his death, burial, and resurrection just from the head's knowledge, and sure, that’s good, but are they trusting in him for salvation? In other words, are they believing on Christ for salvation? If not, perhaps it’s not because they don’t want to but because they don’t know why they have to in order to get their sins paid for.
The Bible teaches that we are all born sinners in the wrong, guilty before God, and because of that sin, we deserve eternal separation from God (Hell), but this is why Jesus came to die for us. Furthermore, the Bible teaches that Jesus died on a cross, shed his blood, was buried, and rose again three days later.
How do you trust in Christ for salvation? Trusting in Christ for salvation and believing on Christ for salvation are essentially the same thing, and to receive salvation, you trust in the finished work of Christ (His death, burial, and resurrection—the blood of Christ) as the payment for your sins. In other words, you believe only on what Jesus did for you as the payment for your sins. This is the good news! Salvation is a free gift that can only be received by faith alone.
